We tried jerk chicken meal with coconut milk rice and steamed veggies. Both food and service were definitely top notch. The server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and we loved the Jamaican music and vibe. Will stop again when visiting the area in future.
best jerk chicken I've ever had... granted, I've only had a dozen versions, or so, but this is just delicious... limited drink choices - but a bunch of flavors of calypso lemonade... makes us want to go to jamaica...
First time here, and boy, did it not disappoint. We went on Sunday, when they have a limited but still plentiful menu. Had the Jerk Chicken and my BF had the Goat Curry. Both had amazing flavor, the rice and slaw were all topnotch (hence the name). Literally can't wait to come back because I want to try it all. Thank you Curtis and Gayle for everything!
Authentic Jamaican food. My wife and I shared the Jerk Chicken and Curried Goat. Both were really tasty. The curry was full of spice and some heat. The goat was tender and not gamey at all. The. Chicken was moist and had a great crust. Both came with an authentic slaw. I definitely want to go back and try the ox tail. Very reasonable prices and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Last night, we had the most delicious meal at Topnotch Island Flavor Kitchen! The chicken pumpkin soup was a taste sensation --- the dumplings are the best I've had in a long time. This was the first time I tried goat and the curry goat didn't disappoint --- it was bursting with flavor! The Braised Oxtail fell off the bone --- it was pure comfort on a plate. Shoutout to the owners for being genuinely kind and making us feel like family. Counting down the days until our next visit – this place is a gem!
First of all, I could've eaten two of the oxtail plates...ok? -Happened to be in the area, walked in, ordered to go and waited maybe 10mins? Called in second order for my mom; told 20mins but it was like 10 or so. I think it's worth the paid. -Oxtail meat was tender and perfect... Jerk chicken was spicy for mom I didn't ask/check if hot or not when ordering but I thought it was wonderful w/just the right amount of spice ...Rice & peas ... White rice was good... Steamed cabbage and veggies weren't overcooked. -Side order of plantains was delicious! -Its clean, the gentleman at the counter is friendly, and it smells like home in there! Will def return anytime I'm up that way!
Food was absolutely delicious. Spicy without being unbearable and oh-so tasty!!! I definitely recommend the Jamaican beef patty, but the Island shrimp-fried rice was also incredible, stacked with flavors and neat, crunchy textures! The dining area is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful layering of reds, browns, and olive greens. Inviting and warm ambience, with great Jamaican music on the speakers. Everything was impeccably clean, from the floors to the tables to the walls. Oh, and every table comes equipped with its own centerpiece with hand sanitizer! Definitely recommend! Only complaint is that the service started out stellar, then the server disappeared and the drinks went dry. But honestly? Barely a complaint. The food was so good, I can't be mad.
My wife and I have lived in the Caribbean and on the Caribbean slope of Costa Rica. We love the cuisine of those beautiful places. This restaurant serves delicious Jamaican dishes. Service was delightful and welcoming. We especially recommend the oxtail entree with coconut rice and peas(kidney beans). Fried plantain was perfect. Two surprisingly tasty things were the Cole slaw side order and the dessert Rum cake with compote topping.
